KILN FIRED ENAMELLING INTRO

Learn the fantastic technique of enamelling through this intensive and fun weekend. Enamelling allows you to add colour and style to your jewellery through the medium of glass.

In this beginners level class you will learn about this ancient technique and explore the possibilities of working with enamel on copper.

Techniques covered in this class include:

• Shaping (slight doming of work)
• Preparing metal for enamelling
• Enamelling onto copper blanks
• Sifting techniques
• Painting techniques
• Graphite on enamel (drawing)
• Wet packing and much more....

This workshop is focused on using a kiln. Throughout the day, you will create several samples and make a pair of earrings and a pendant using the copper blanks.

*Maximum Number of Students per Class: 6
*Schedule: 9:30am to 6:00pm (1/2 Hour Lunch)

You will learn how to clean your copper and slightly dome it before enamelling.

You will learning how to sift on the front and back of your copper piece, and build up those layers.

You will learn how to torch fire your piece to maturity.

If you find it necessary to cancel, we are happy to provide a class credit for the value of your registration, less a $25 cancellation fee.
